Resumo

A single model equation has been derived in terms of the Laplace transform to describe essentially unsteady heat transfer in a heterogeneous medium. It may be applied to analyse semispace heating through a flat boundary. The model offers substantiation to a simple heat transfer process. A universal procedure has been developed for design calculations of the rate of steady and unsteady heat transfer between an infiltrated granular bed and a surface. Heat transfer experiments for a vertical copper cylinder and fixed infiltrated beds of large particles ( d >l mm ) have shown a sufficient correctness of the method.
