Resumo

A physical liquid exchange model of dryout is proposed. The model incorporates correlations for liquid film mass fraction. The correlations generalize the data obtained at adiabatic conditions and with heat addition for high-pressure steam-water flows. The model describes the dryout controlled by droplet deposition, bubble entrainment, and occuring at no effective liquid exchange between the core and the liquid film. The boundaries of flow parameters for regions with various liquid exchange between the core and the film have been proposed. The model allows calculations of critical heat flux vs. dryness quality at dryout location within the range of pressures from 1.0 to 16 MPa and steam-water flux from 500 to 4,000 kg/m2 s. The model is valid with various laws of heat flux distributions along the test section. The comparison of the experimental data and predictions generally gives the agreement within ±15%.
