Resumo

Numerical analyses were performed for mixed convection heat transfer in a square flow channel with non-uniform heating. Three dimensional governing equations were solved for Re=l00, Pr=0.72 and Gr/Re2 =0−50 by finite volume and pressure correction methods. The local flow and thermal situations were examined across the section and along the flow direction of the square channel. As the buoyancy force increased, the three dimensional flow separation appeared near the upper wall of the channel due to the non-uiiifonn wall heating. This flow behavior strongly affected on the local heat transfer characteristics of the square channel. The numerical analysis was also performed for the channel with the adiabatic entry region.
