CONJUGATE MIXED CONVECTION FROM A VERTICAL FLAT PLATE
Resumo
The steady conjugate mixed convection flow along a vertical finite flat plate under the boundary-layer approximation is presented. The problem reduces to a system of two coupled parabolic partial differential equations in two parameters, namely the Prandtl number Pr and the buoyancy parameter λ, which is the ratio of the Grashof to the square of the Reynolds number. Full numerical and asymptotic series solutions have been obtained for Pr = 0.7 and for a wide range of values of λ. Results for the distribution of the temperature and skin friction at the plate are presented and a prediction for the point of separation of the boundary-layer is also given.
