Resumo

Annular gas−liquid flow has been studied intensively, but most of the work has been done with air−water and steam−water systems. Although these studies have yielded much information about the flow (particularly with regard to critical heat flux) the general effect of fluid physical properties on the flow is not at all well understood.
This paper presents a very brief summary of a long research programme carried out at Harwell where a range of fluid systems has been studied. The present paper concentrates on experimental results of entrained liquid fraction, drop size, and deposition mass transfer coefficient.
