Resumo

In this study we present a new technique for heat transfer enhancement as an unification system by combining a cantilever vibrator with a rectangular cylinder. The experimental analysis of flow and heat transfer around a rectangular cylinder with width/height ratio of 4/6 set in the near wake generated by a cantilever vibrator was performed under low Reynolds number conditions. The velocity field was measured using a laser-Doppler anemometer, and the temperature field by a Mach-Zehnder interferometer, respectively. We found that the time-averaged heat transfer around the cylinder reaches 1.8 times higher compared with the case without the vibrator.
