Resumo

Thermal properties of porous media containing gas hydrates govern the heat transfer process during dissociation of gas hydrates and directly impact the gas production rate and energy efficiency. The effective thermal conductivity of hydrate-bearing porous media reflect the capacity to transfer heat and energy. The primary objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of porous media properties on the effective thermal conductivity of tetrahydrofuran hydrates and estimate the typical prediction models. Thus, the effective thermal conductivity of samples with different porosity, hydrates saturation and porous materials is measured. The agreement of experimental data with the results calculated from different models is evaluated, and the relatively accurate model is figured out. Furthermore, we provide a fitting model that is suitable for our experimental conditions. Additionally, X-ray CT apparatus is employed in this study to determine the porosity and hydrates saturation of the sample using the calculation method. The extension of the studies to natural gas hydrates could have implications in understanding the control mechanism of gas hydrates dissociation and the heat transfer process in the internal reservoir during gas production.
