Resumo

A CFD simulation method based on Eulerian two-fluid model has been developed for evaluating void fraction and fluid velocity distributions in the secondary side of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger. Constitutive equations for interfacial area concentration, drag force, and two-phase pressure loss passing internal structures have been implemented in ANSYS FLUENT by utilizing user-defined functions (UDFs). The developed code has been validated by using experimental data, which were obtained in reduced-scaled facility with simulant fluids. Comparison with measured void fraction and velocity data shows that prediction errors were 1σ=13% for void fraction and 30% for velocity.
