Аннотация

Analytical solutions to the partial differential equation for temperature distribution in the dried out portion of an initially liquid saturated porous solid medium is presented. The solution is given for the case of a liquid saturated infinite plane porous wall of finite thickness initially at the uniform saturation temperature of the liquid, suddenly subjected to a constant surface heat flux. In addition to the transient temperature distribution, the position of the receding liquid-vapor interface is analytically determined as function of time. Experimental measurements of the temperature variation with position and time in the dried out portion of the porous wall are compared with data determined by analytic solution. The porous structural materials tested covered a range of density from 1587 ≤ ρS ≤ 25440 kg/m3, of thermal conductivity from 1.23 ≤ λS 10.0 W/mK, of porosity from 17 ≤ P ≤ 43% of heat flux from 20,000 ≤ q0 ≤ 73,000 W/m2. The agreement between experimental and analytic data is generally good.
