Аннотация

Heat transfer of impinging dropiet flow on a hot surface is analyzed in terms of droplet-wall impaction heat transfer, air convection, and thermal radiative heat transfer. The droplet-wall impaction heat transfer consists of droplet-wall contact heat transfer and local vapor convective heat transfer. Both of them depend upon Weber number of droplets. A correlation is established for water and stainless steel. The air convective heat transfer is analyzed by considering the vapor generation near the wall as a heat sink in air energy conservation equation. Comparison of the analysis with some available data shows favorable results. The contribution of the droplet-wall impaction heat transfer to the overall heat transfer is significant; however, the other mechanisms are also important in the spray impinging cooling heat transfer.
