Аннотация

The pressure drop of low pressure steam condensing inside tubes of various internal geometries was investigated. A smooth tube, the smooth tube with two twisted-tape inserts, and four internally finned tubes were tested. After introducing basic modifications to account for changes in geometry, various combinations of correlations for frictional pressure loss and momentum pressure increase were applied to the data. The Dukler II friction correlation and the Hughmark void fraction for the momentum equation were most successful for the smooth tube and tubes with twisted-tape inserts. The same friction correlation' with homogeneous voids gave the best correlation of the pressure drop in the internally finned tubes. Performance ratios are developed for area change and pressure drop change which result from use of augmented tubes. All of the internally finned tubes permit a condenser length reduction and a pressure drop reduction.
