HEAT TRANSFER BY DIRECTING GAS-LIQUID SPRAY PERPENDICULARLY ON A FLAT SURFACE

The investigations and prediction model of hydrodynamics and heat transfer by directing gas liquid spray perpendicularly on a flat surface have been performed. From the observations it came out, that using the proper mass flow ratios of gas and liquid in two-phase flow, there is the thin flowing liquid film created on the heat transfer surface, covering quite big part of this surface. In this area large heat transfer coefficient values could be expected.
The analysis performed here confirmed these suppositions. The prediction model consisted of continuity, momentum and energy equations, which were worked out in the impinging region and the wall stream region by means of the integral methods. It has been found out that for water flow ratios from 0.00139 kg/s to 0.0222 kg/s and radial surface with diameter 0.08 m the calculated values of average heat transfer coefficients oscilated from 1000 W/(m2K)to 2000 W/(m2K) respectively.
