Аннотация

The thermal structures in porous media with internal heat generation have been discussed extensively by analytical method and also examined in more detail by the subsequent experiments. The comprehensive features revealed in this study may be summarized in the followings: (1) The validity of the analytical prediction has been confirmed by the experiments through the comparisons of the temperature profiles. The typical features embodied in the system result in a sharp spike at the exothermic zone, a formation of high and uniform temperature region in loose porous media and the drastic temperature decrease at the end porous layer. (2) The radiative transfer and the resultant radiation fields in the respective porous medium have been elucidated by analysis which permits to speculate the detailed distribution of radiative fluxes. (3) The mechanisms of heat transfer and combustion augmentation have been revealed. A remarkable energy recirculation has been achieved from the burnt gas to the preheat of combustible mixture by thermal radiation propagation against the flow direction.
