Аннотация

Characteristics of the free convective film-wise condensation of a binary mixture of vapors on flat and finned plates were experimentally and theoretically investigated by using R113-R114 and R113-R11 mixtures. The experimental results were compared with a pseudo-similar solution where the temperature at the vapor-liquid interface was assumed constant. It was clarified that the heat transfer was controlled by vapor diffusion in the small bulk-to-wall temperature difference region, but determined by the thermal resistance of the condensed film in the high temperature difference region. The heat transfer performance of condensation on a finned surface was also investigated. The results showed that the condensation heat transfer coefficient on the finned plate of 3mm in fin height could be accurately estimated by the theory in which the vapor diffusion layer fully covered the finned plate.
