NUMERICAL STUDY OF THE HORIZONTAL WALLS HEAT CONDUCTION EFFECTS IN THE RAYLEIGH-BENARD CONVECTION
Аннотация
In this paper the effects of the conduction heat transfer in the upper and lower walls limiting a Rayleigh-Benard fluid layer are analysed.
The conduction-convection coupled problem is analysed, on one hand by a linear stability theory in order to determine the convective threshold, and on the other hand by the 3D finite elements calculation to study the flow pattern for supercritical convection.
A 3D flow pattern is observed near the onset of convection.
