Аннотация

An experimental study has been conducted to determine flow patterns and their transitions on the shell-side of a segmentally baffled horizontal shell-and-tube heat exchanger. The experimental work reported are carried out using air/ oil mixtures in model exchangers of rectangular cross section. The flow patterns in the cross -flow zones are obtained and flow pattern map is constructed. Models and dimensionless correlation are presented for determining flow regime transitions. A comparison between air-water and air-oil data is made, the results show that the liquid viscousity and interface tension produce an obvious effect on the flow patterns and their transitions.
