Аннотация

Benefiting from transformation optics, the thermal harvesting devices are fabricated with metamaterial wedge cells, which bend and concentrate the heat flux in the functional regions. However, discussions on the influences of heat flux bending in such wedge cells are lacking. In this paper, we focus on the influence variables of heat flux bending in such wedge structures, which affect the harvesting performance directly. The fundamental latent function for adjusting related heat conduction processes and heat flux tensors, considering the transformations in x', y', and z', is proposed through achieving the expressions of heat flux bending. The factors affecting the deflections are studied both in 2D and 3D schemes with the thermal harvesting profiles, i.e. directly employing the layered structures inside the function regions in the original region. More than one components of thermal flux bending were observed in 3D domains under certain conditions. Finally, the effects of design parameters, including the ratio of conductivities, azimuths, and transformed compressive effects. The heat flux bending inside the metamaterial wedge cells can be manipulated in arbitrary domains by adjusting the geometrical azimuths, compressive degrees, and selections of materials. The findings can serve for designing novel thermal devices with the flexible wedge cells, and locally optimize the material configurations to achieve better artificial thermal behaviors.
