Аннотация

The initial emittable concentration (Co), diffusion coefficient (Dm), and material/air partition coefficient (K) are the three characteristic parameters influencing emissions of formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from building materials or furniture. Based on the completely analytical solution of the emission model of building material, an improved C-history method is developed for rapidly and accurately determining these parameters. The new method is validated by using experiment results in the literature, proving that it is reliable and convincing. Compared to the traditional C-history method, this method overcomes the limitation of fitting period and improves the operability. The experiment settings like air exchange rate and material load are optimized for improving the accuracy and stability of this method. Also, the sources and influence of the errors are evaluated for estimating the accuracy of the final results and promoting the standard for the measuring equipment and process. The present method and discussions should prove useful for rapid and accurate characterization of formaldehyde/VOC emissions from indoor materials.
