FLOW AND HEAT TRANSFER PAST A SEMI-INFINITE VERTICAL PLATE WITH OSCILLATING PLATE TEMPERATURE
The response of laminar boundary layer flow past a semi-infinite vertical plate to harmonic oscillations in the plate temperature in the form of a travelling wave convected in the direction of the free-stream has been studied on taking into account the free convection
currents. Series solutions in terms of small amplitude and the small frequency to coupled non-linear equations are derived and by usual transformations, these are converted into quasi-linear ordinary differential equations. These are solved numerically on computer. Viscous dissipation effects are also taken into account. The functions, A1 K>sub>1l affecting the velocity and the temperature field are shown on graphs.
