摘要

A novel multilayer sheet type solid desiccant dehumidifier was proposed in which desiccant particles were dispersed without any polymer binder to maximize the water uptake capability of the device. A distinguished micro sphere silica gel (M. S. Gel) manufactured by AGC Si-Tech. Co., Ltd., Japan, with a pore diameter of 2.7 nm was used as desiccant during the experiments which could be regenerated at temperatures below 60 °C. Besides, innovative sheet type design of desiccant bed significantly lowered the air flow restriction as well as pressure drop across the dehumidifier. Dynamic heat and mass transfer characteristics of the device during both adsorption and desorption were evaluated experimentally for varying inlet air conditions and desiccant bed thickness. The proposed device demonstrated better capability compared to existing solid desiccant technologies from the literature.
