SPECTRAL DIRECTIONAL EMITTANCE OF METAL SURFACES WITH PYRAMIDAL SURFACE UNDULATIONS
Abstract
The theory and results for the spectral directional emittance from metal surfaces with pyramidal surface undulations is presented. The geometry of the surface roughness is chosen to approximate the rms. height and surface slopes of real randomly roughened surfaces of moderate roughness. Each individual sloping surface emits and reflects radiant energy according to Fresnel relationships. The analytical results are compared with the available experimental data.
