TURBULENT THREE-DIMENSIONAL HEAT TRANSFER ANALYSIS OF ARRAYS OF HEATED BLOCKS
Abstract
Periodic fully developed heat transfer characteristics are computed for turbulent flow through an array of heated square blocks deployed along one wall of a parallel-plate duct using the high Reynolds number form of the K-ε turbulence model. This configuration simulates the forced-convection cooling of electronic equipment. The calculations are performed for a range of Reynolds numbers and for a Prandtl number of 0.7. The results are compared with available experimental results.
