Abstrakt

The constant rate laminar flow heat transfer correlation method of Clark and Kays /1/ has been tested for several systems of varying geometry using a fluid with highly sensitive physical properties. A graph of actual mean Nusselt number/(limlting Husselt number) versus Gratz number is presented for each. The test ducts have helically wound heat sources and low thermal conductance walls. The correlation method thus proved for "simple" systems has been applied to a complicated one. The limiting condition idea can be extended to calculating entry length conditions.
