HEAT TRANSFER IN THE ENTRANCE REGION OF AN ANNULUS
Abstrakt
The paper describes an experiment to determine local heat transfer coefficients for the entrance region of an annulus in which only the inner surface was heated. Correlated heat transfer results are given for annulus diameter ratios of 1.47 and I.96 and for surface temperatures up to 1000°C corresponding to a surface to bulk gas temperature ratio of 3. Annulus Reynolds numbers were mainly between 1 × 105 and 6 × 105 and high pressure carbon dioxide was the coolant.
