Four-equation models for Reynolds stress and turbulent heat flux predictions
Abstrakt
Four transport equation turbulence models for turbulent heat fluxes are addressed. First, models of
k-ψ, ktheta;-ψθ type are studied (with ψ = kaεb and ψθ = kθpεθq). Relations on the model constants
are analytically derived to force the model to respect some basic physical features. As an application, a
new k-ε, kθ-εθ model, where the k-ε model is an optimised version of the high Reynolds form
of Jones-Launder, has been developed and compared to available data on thermal self-similar flows. In
a second part, a model of k-kl, kθ-kθlθ type is proposed which fulfills all dynamical and thermal
requirements, opposite to existing models. This new model is then applied to simple self-similar flows.
