Effects of blockage on flow and heat transfer over a tube in cross flow
Abstrakt
A numerical investigation is carried out to study the effect of confining walls on the flow and heat transfer characteristics of flow past a circular tube for the range of 200 ≤ Re ≤ 105 and 1/20 ≤ BR ≤ 1/3. The results are
presented in the form of local pressure coefficient, drag coefficient, Strouhal number as well as averaged Nusselt number. Vorticity contours are also presented for better understanding of the flow structure and to support various conclusions. It is observed that drag coefficient and Strouhal number increase with blockage ratio.
