TEMPERATURE DEPENDENT THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY EVALUATION OF ALUMINA BASED NANOFLUIDS
Abstrakt
This paper presents thermal conductivity measurements on alumina based nanofluids. Readings at ambient temperature as well as over a relatively large temperature range were made for various particle volume fractions up to 9%. Results clearly show the predicted overall effect of an increase in the effective thermal conductivity with an increase in particle volume fraction. Furthermore, results suggest that the relative increase in thermal conductivity is more important at higher temperatures. This would seem to indicate that the usage of nanofluids in practical engineering applications would be even more attractive since operating cooling fluid temperatures would most certainly be greater than room temperature.
