Abstrakt

Spray cooling is a kind of new technology of increasing interest for future electronic cooling and other high heat flux applications. It is characterized by high heat transfer, uniformity of heat removal, small fluid inventory, low droplet impact velocity, and no temperature overshoot. Therefore, it becomes one of the most promising electronic cooling methods. However, due to its complex heat transfer mechanism and dependence on many parameters that are not easily varied independently, study of spray cooling is quite limited. In this paper, the effects of spraying parameters, subcooling degree on spray cooling performance were investigated experimentally. The results show that, there exists an optimal spraying height under which the heat transfer capacity can be improved. The decrease of subcooling degree can increase spray heat transfer capacity and cooling efficiency, and improve heating surface temperature uniformity. However, it results in lower heat flux and higher heating surface temperature.
