Blinking and Temperature Gradients in Normal Functioning Human Eye
Abstrakt
Most published modeling of the human eye assumes that the human eyeball is at a constant temperature, mostly at 37 ?C. One article studied the temperature gradients in the open eye in preparation for surgery. The authors are not familiar with any articles that consider the temperature gradients in the normal eye, under normal conditions of blinking. In this article the anatomy of the human eyeball, dimensions, and properties are considered in constructing a finite thermal model of the normal functioning human eye for an adult. Also, room boundary conditions are used. Based on the model the temperature gradients in the normal blinking eye are reported and compared with thermal imaging of closed eyes.
