Abstrakt

This paper is dedicated to present a comprehensive discussion on the flow and thermal modeling of room temperature liquid metal (RTLM) for a better understanding of the new materials. In the field of heat transfer, room temperature liquid metal (RTLM) has gained wide attention due to its good fluidity, high thermal and electrical conductivity. Here, the investigation of RTLM in the flow around multiple circular cylinders is carried out. In this paper, the convective heat transfer characteristics of RTLM in the flow around multiple circular cylinders are studied. Numerical simulations are conducted to evaluate the effect of liquid metal on the flow around multiple circular cylinders. Compared with water, the simulated results clearly show that the liquid metal in the flow around multiple cylinders owns more outstanding convective heat transfer effect. Besides, the method of enhancing convective heat transfer is proposed. Therefore, liquid metal convective heat transfer is expected to be used in a wide variety of fields where the ultra-high heat flux exists (e.g. 10000 W, 100 W/cm2).
