INFLUENCE OF THE ABLATION ON THE HEAT TRANSFER NEAR THE STAGNATION POINT OF A BLUNT BODY
Abstract
The influence of the gaseos ablating products on the heat exchange in the vicinity of the stagnation point of a blunt body moving at hypersonic velocity in the Earth atmosphere is invistigated. The problem is considered for the conditions of strong blow when the flow in the vapour layer is inviscid. Analysis of the present results as well as those of other authors enabled to propose the simple method which allows to calculate the heat fluxes incident on the ablating surface with an acceptable accuracy for various heat shields.
