EXPERIMENTAL CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DISTRIBUTIONS AND BOUNDARY LAYER THICKNESSES IN TURBULENT FLOW THROUGH A VARIABLE CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA CHANNEL
Sinopsis
Wall static pressure and heat transfer measurements are presented in subsonic, transonic and supersonic flow regions in a heated air flow through a variable-area axisymmetric channel comprised of a duct, nozzle, and a diffuser. The se measurements reveal the nature of the flow field consisting of numerous separated flow regions, single shock wave-turbulent boundary layer interactions and multiple shock wave-turbulent boundary layer interactions in particular, and the corresponding level of heat transfer in the various flow regions.
