Mixing in the 2D vertical plane free jet in the aiding convection regime, an experimental approach
Sinopsis
With modern experimental methods, it is possible to obtain huge amounts of data. On the base of local LDV
and thermocouple measurements which are used as reference, the buoyant free jet is characterized with image
processing and PIV global measurements. To this end, specific postprocessing techniques have been developed to
extract quantitative results from experimental data often used in studying thermal processes involving convective
flows. In particular, it is shown how can be studied the influence of the temperature on the dynamics of a buoyant
jet. Other tools can be used, the list presented in this paper is not exhaustive and we hope that it will give an
improved understanding of the field.
