HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP OF FIXED BED REACTORS WITH SUBMERGED TUBE BUNDLES
Résumé
Pressure drop and heat transfer
of a fixed bed with different submerged
tube bundles were measured over a
wide range of Re-numbers. One essential
parameter for calculating the
pressure drop is the voidage. A correlation
is given to determine the
voidage in dependence of particle diameter
and tube pitch. Then a model is
presented which allows the calculation
of the pressure drop in good agreement
with the experimental data. In the
second part experimental Nu-numbers
for overall heat transfer between tubes
and fluid are compared with calculated
values. By adapting correlations taken
from literature we got good agreement
between measured and calculated values.
