Résumé

A novel concept for enhancing convective heat transfer, called field synergy principle, was proposed in 1998. In this paper this principle is extended to the transport process of the pulse tube refrigerator. The essence of several important improvements in the developing process of PTR is revealed by the field synergy principle. In addition, the principle is further used to determine the optimum geometric parameter of PTR, and an optimum length to diameter ratio is found numerically, at which the maximum cooling capacity of the PTR can be obtained.
