Numerical simulation of natural convection in a differentially heated cavity with thermal perturbation at the hot wall
Résumé
A two-dimensional direct numerical simulation of flows and heat transfer by natural convection in the differentially heated cavity of vertical aspect ratio 4 is presented. A periodical thermal excitation is located at the bottom of the hot wall. The effects of amplitude and of temperature frequency signals are numerically investigated. The results show the evolution of the global and local Nusselt numbers. A more complex behaviour of the flow is observed than was anticipated.
