Résumé

The COSMOS heat pipe is a kind of oscillating flow heat pipes. It was shown analytically that the effective thermal conductivity of the COSMOS heat pipes much higher than that of the so-called Dream Pipe, but there have been no experimental data for the COSMOS heat pipe. So, experiments for the steady and transient thermal characteristics of a COSMOS heat pipe were conducted to examine the analytical result. The experimental data obtained under steady-state conditions are in good agreement with the predicted results. As for the transient response, the experimental data indicate that the response time depends on the frequency and amplitude of the oscillatory flow.
