要約

Experimental study has been made on burnout in nucleate boiling at high heat fluxes on a heated rectangular copper surface, to which a saturated liquid at atmospheric pressure (water, freon-113, and trichrolethane) is supplied through a plane jet flowing out of a very thin rectangular nozzle set up near the front edge of the heated surface with a prescribed incidence angle. Burnout heat flux (that is, critical heat flux) is measured for the heated surface of 10 to 20 mm in length with a plane jet of 0.56 to 0.77 mm in thickness, 15° to 60° in incidence angle to the heated surface, and 1.5 to 15m/s in velocity. All the data of burnout heat flux thus obtained are correlated well by a generalized correlation equation, in which the dimensionless burnout heat flux is given as a function of Weber number and the density ratio. Finally, it is shown that this correlation is approximately similar, not only in form but also in quantity, to the correlation equation of burnout in the boiling system with a small round jet vertically impinging on the center of a heated surface.
