要約

The effect of mass transfer on heat transfer rates and coefficients for two-phase flow in a vertical steam condenser has been determined. It was found that as the mass transfer rate from liquid to gas increases, the heat transfer rates increase, but the heat transfer coefficients decrease. In addition, the effect of gas-liquid froth composition and properties upon the heat transfer rates and coefficients has been investigated. In the case of two-phase heat transfer with no mass transfer, the introduction of air into the liquid increased the heat transfer coefficients substantially, and a general correlation based on dimensional analysis was proposed. In the case of two-phase heat transfer with mass transfer, the heat transfer coefficients were found to be a function of liquid and gas mass flux densities, vapor pressure of the liquid and the total pressure of the system. At high mass transfer rates, the heat transferred to the two-phase mixture in the steam condenser was entirely transferred to the humidified air leaving the system.
