PREDICTION OF THE SINTERING PROCESS FOR CERAMIC AND METAL POWDERS
要約
A sintering rate model, applicable to ceramic or metallic powders, is described. It has been incorporated in a moving finite-element method that calculates the transient temperature distribution, shrinkage rate distribution, and the stress distribution during the sintering cycle. Rate constants for each powder are obtained by simple, small sample experiments. The thermal conductivity of pressed powder parts prior to, and during, sintering has been correlated using new experimental data. The model is briefly described, and its initial application to the sintering of ceramic and metal powders is reviewed.
