要約

The problem of transient natural convection and boiling in a square porous cavity with heating from below is numerically studied using a newly developed two-phase mixture model. Boiling induced natural convection, flow transition from a uni- to bi-cellular pattern with the onset of boiling, and flow hysteresis as the bottom heat flux increases and then decreases have been observed. Several transient numerical experiments have been carried out to visualize the formation of the various flow structures, and to fully explore the interactive dynamics of natural convection and boiling in porous media.
