STUDY OF THE ACCELERATED COOLING OF A VERY HOT WALL WITH A FORCED FLOW OF SUBCOOLED LIQUID IN FILM BOILING REGIME
Resumo
The purpose of the present study was to determine the film boiling heat transfer number between a very hot wall and a subcooled fluid in forced flow in a confined duct.
Heat transfer experimental correlations have been obtained from tests performed with a variety of cooling fluids and cooling duct geometries. A theoretical model has been derived form the results. It describes with a fair accuracy the heat transfer phenomenon for a plane or cylindrical duct in a very large range of heat flow rates (from 105 W/m2 to more than 107 W/m2).
