Resumo

The contributions of the present paper are two. First, analytic solutions in Lagrangian coordinates for fluid element void and position, and for liquid phase enthalpy are presented for flashing, non-equilibrium transient two-phase flows. Second, it is shown that these solutions, when utilized in the FAST calculation procedure for transient two-phase flows can predict a variety of flow reversal situations, including those in which condensation plays a significant role. Comparisons of prediction and experiment for the data of Primoli and Hancox (15) show excellent agreement.
