DIRECT CONTACT PHENOMENON BETWEEN A LIQUID DROPLET AND HIGH TEMPERATURE SOLID SURFACE
Recently the Leidenfrost phenomenon has been invesitigated intensively. But it is not so easy yet to predict the Leidenfrost temperature, because the dynamic behaviour of the direct contact between a liquid droplet and a high temperature solid surface has not been clarified sufficiently. This paper presents the visual study of the contact surface and the systematic measurements of the Leidenfrost temperature for wide varieties of variables. Based on these observations, a theoretical model which pre-dicts the Leidenfrost temperature is proposed.
