CRITICAL HEAT FLUX FOR LARGE DIAMETER STEAM GENERATING TUBES WITH CIRCUMFERENTIALLY VARIABLE AND UNIFORM HEATING
Resumo
Critical heat flux data are presented for vertical steam generating tubes of 32 mm internal diameter subjected to circumferentially variable and uniform heat flux distributions. The test conditions were: pressure - 180 bar, mass flux - 700 to 1500 kg/m2s, inlet-subcooled, bulk quality - − 0.1 to + 0.4, heated length−7.62 and 10.38 m. Information obtained showed that at nominally the same local conditions the critical heat flux was higher for the nonuniformly heated tube, the difference being greatest at low qualities and at low mass flux levels different trends were exhibited. The results were also used to assess two published correlations.
