CALCULATION OF SIMULTANEUS HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER PROCESS IN HEAT EXCHANGERS
The complexity of multi component, multiphase heat transfer problems in industrial exchangers is discussed
on a practical example. Several calculation methods are briefly shown. The results of own measurements for
partial condensation of a nitrogen - butene mixture in a shell-and-tube exchanger are compared with some
published correlations. Well agreement was found with the Votta method (graphical solution of Colburn-Hougen
equation) and the Gilmour (weighted) method.
