Resumo

Experimental results are reported for 57 DNB heat flux measurements obtained from a single 0.320 inch O.D. by 28 inch long heater rod centered in a 0.510 inch square, unheated channel, for conditions of upwards flow of water at 1600-2300 psia pressure, 520-600°F inlet temperature, and 0.5 - 3.0 × 106 lb/hr ft2 mass velocity. A comparison is made with existing DNB correlations, among which the Westinghouse modified W-3 correlation yields good agreement, predicting the measured DNB heat flux within +15% and -10%.
