AN INVESTIGATION ON BOILING HEAT TRANSFER IN LIQUID SATURATED POROUS BED
Resumo
An experimental investigation has been conducted to understand the boiling heat transfer mechanism and critical heat flux in a liquid saturated porous bed heated from below. The effects of diameter of particle, bed height and particle properties on boiling heat transfer performance were examined. Glass beads, alumina and steel balls were used as test particles. Water and ethanol were adopted as test liquids. Two correlations which can be used to determine the nucleate boiling heat transfer coefficient and the critical heat flux in porous bed were proposed.
