THE EFFECTS OF UNIFORMITY OF TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE FIELD ON THERMAL PERFORMANCE OF HEAT EXCHANGERS
Resumo
In this paper, a concept of temperature difference field (TDF) in heat exchanger is developed and a factor of uniformity of TDF Φ, is defined which reflects the degree of uniformity of TDF and varies from zero to units. The effects of Φ on the effectiveness of heat exchanger is studied. It is found that the more uniform the TDF in heat exchangers , the higher the heat exchanger effectiveness , if the number of heat transfer unity (NTU) and thermal capacity rate ratio between hot and cold fluids, Gh, are constant.
