Аннотация

Heat and mass transfer coefficients were measured for air and oil flowing through a rotating tube about a parallel axis in order to predict a temperature distribution in a rotor with cooling ducts in the rotating electric machine. A significant increase in the rate of heat and mass transfer associated with rotation occurred over the range of Reynolds number, Re (162~ 2, 700) and rotational speed, n (420~ 2, 700 r. p. m.). Results showed that the rotation influence on heat and mass transfer was well represented by two governing factors: rotational Rayleigh number, Rar and Greatz number, Gz. A tentative empirical equation, correlating all of the results, was presented.
